NPI Mechanical Engineer

NPI Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking an NPI (New Product Introduction) Mechanical Engineer to set up and run the production assembly line for our precision mechanical and RF assemblies. You take them from R&D transfer to stable, high-yield output, and you keep owning the line once it runs. You are responsible for dimensional control, process stability, testing, inspection and failure analysis. This is a hands-on role. You build the line rather than inherit it. You work closely with the design team: when production, inspection or test data show that a part or tolerance should change, you propose and contribute to the design update yourself rather than just reporting the issue.

About Isentroniq

At Isentroniq, we are building the future of computing, not in theory, but in hardware. We enable quantum computing at scale by developing superconducting circuit solutions that increase qubit count by more than 100x at fixed cost and infrastructure size.

We share knowledge openly, challenge ideas constructively, and stay focused on what matters. Our values (gritty ambition with humility, radical candor, surgical audacity, and self-accountable teamwork) are at the core of how we work and grow.

If you’re passionate about transformative innovation and ready to build the interconnects that make quantum computing at scale possible, join us.

Key Responsibilities

  • Line set-up and transfer: Define the assembly flow, stations, jigs and fixtures. Transfer processes from R&D to production with SOPs, trained operators, full traceability and safety/ESD rules in place.

  • Dimensional control and inspection: Turn GD&T drawings into inspection plans, qualify the metrology (Gage R&R), and run incoming to final inspection. Feed tolerance and DFM improvements back to design, and contribute to design changes where relevant.

  • Process stability and yield: Run control plans, SPC, PFMEA and change control. Track yield, scrap and cadence, and remove bottlenecks.

  • Testing and failure analysis: Define mechanical and RF acceptance tests and their fixtures. Lead root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions.

  • Suppliers: Qualify and audit suppliers of machined, plated and RF components.

Who you are

We’re looking for a builder who wants to see their work leave the lab. What drives you is a line that runs smoothly, a yield that climbs, and a failure that never comes back. You are not afraid to start from an empty room: define the flow, design the fixtures, write the first SOPs and train the first operators yourself. You trust data over opinions and won’t rest until you’ve found the real root cause. You love the moment when a fragile prototype becomes a product we can build again and again, and you are curious enough to look beyond your own scope: when a design can be made better, you are eager to make it happen.

Key Qualifications

  • Education: Engineering degree or master’s in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience: 4+ years hands-on in manufacturing, process or quality engineering, working on the line, not just supervising it.

  • Quality toolkit: GD&T, metrology (CMM, optical, gauges), MSA, SPC, control plans, PFMEA, DOE and structured root-cause methods (8D, Ishikawa).

  • Industrialization: R&D-to-production transfer, jig and fixture design in CAD, supplier management and auditing, SOP writing and operator training.

  • Data: Production data analytics with Python or SQL, Minitab or JMP, and Power BI.

  • Communication proficiency in English

Bonus

  • Mechanical design (strong plus): Design of precision machined parts and assemblies in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA or similar), drawing release with GD&T, tolerance stack-ups and DFM/DFA, ideally including RF housings or enclosures. Experience taking a product from concept to production is highly valued.

  • Electronics and RF (strong plus): Electronic and RF assembly and test (PCBs, flex circuits, wire bonding, soldering; VNA, S-parameters, RF connectors).

  • Line start-up: Setting up a line in a new facility, ideally high-mix, low-volume, cleanroom or ESD-controlled.

  • Precision and regulated industries: Precision machined, plated or brazed parts and RF packaging, ideally in medical devices (ISO 13485) or aerospace (EN/AS 9100).

  • French is a plus

Personal Attributes

  • Ownership mentality: Sound judgment to stop and escalate, and early, factual communication. Fluent English and occasional mobility.

  • Resourceful problem-solver: You find creative solutions under constraints (budget, timeline, materials)

  • Clear communicator: You explain technical decisions to non-mechanical engineers and align cross-functional teams

What We Offer

  • A unique opportunity to shape the technological direction of a cutting-edge start-up.

  • The unique chance to develop a scale-up-enabling products and the quantum test machines that will drive the company’s success.

  • A collaborative, mission-driven culture with a focus on personal and professional growth.

  • Competitive salary and equity package.
