We're seeking a Microwave Connector Engineer to build Isentroniq's connector technology from the ground up. As the founding engineer for this vertical, you'll run two parallel tracks: (1) evaluate and integrate existing connectors into our first products and quantum test setups, and (2) Develop next-generation high-density cryogenic RF connectors (0-20 GHz) that enable 10-100x higher I/O density. You'll own all microwave design, prototyping, testing, and technical partnerships while working closely with our quantum team (who handle quantum modeling). High-ownership, hands-on role building everything from scratch.
About Isentroniq
At Isentroniq, we make quantum computing happen by developing superconducting circuits solutions to increase the qubit count 1000x at fixed cost and size of infrastructure. We share knowledge openly, challenge ideas constructively, make bold moves and stay focused on what matters. Our values - gritty ambition with humility, radical candor, self-accountable team spirit - are at the core of how we work and grow. If you’re passionate about transformative innovation, and ready to build what quantum needs to go further, join us and let’s shape the future together.
Key Responsibilities
Shortlist, test, and characterize commercial connectors for cryogenic quantum environments;
Integrate best performers into our MVP and test platforms
Design and simulate novel high-density connector concepts using HFSS, optimizing for thermal cycling, crosstalk, and cryogenic performance
Prototype and iterate designs through PCB fab, assembly, soldering, and RF testing (VNA, S-parameters)
Collaborate with manufacturers on advanced prototypes—define specs, coordinate fabrication, troubleshoot challenges
Own the technical roadmap for Isentroniq's connector product line
Who you are
A complete microwave engineer equally comfortable with Maxwell's equations and a soldering iron. You've built complex RF hardware, know the devil is in the details (contact resistance, tolerances, fixture design), and you're energized by owning a critical technology vertical on a founding team.
Key Qualifications
Master's/PhD in EE or Microwave Engineering and 5+ years designing RF/microwave connectors or high-frequency interconnects (DC-20 GHz), with proven concept-to-prototype track record
Expert-level 3D EM simulation (HFSS, CST, ADS) for connector design and optimization
Hands-on prototyping: PCB design/assembly, soldering, VNA measurements, debugging RF performance
Mechanical CAD skills for connector interfaces with understanding of tolerances, materials, contact physics
Builder mindset: autonomous, resourceful, comfortable owning an entire vertical from day one
Fluent English
Bonus : High-density interconnect design (pitch <2mm, 50+ I/O) | Materials/manufacturing process knowledge | Cryogenic experience | Patents/publications in RF interconnects | Connector industry background
Personal Attributes
You are autonomous, ambitious, organized, and enjoy driving a project.
You are a builder. You are hands-on, enjoy discomfort and are not afraid to make things from scratch: complete setups, scripts, purchases, processes, etc.
You embody an engineer’s mindset, with meticulous attention to details and a systematic approach to problem-solving.
You value transparency and open communication, fostering trust and collaboration. You enjoy having your ideas and suggestions be boldly challenged and you feel free to speak about achievements and mistakes.
You are eager to learn and grow. You recognize the strength of teamwork. You feel challenged by competing alternative approaches, instead of looking down on them.
You thrive in an environment of high expectations, pushing boundaries to achieve breakthroughs.
What We Offer
